  • What are the building, life safety, zoning, and other code and regulatory issues that affect our ability to provide space for established and emerging artists

  • Are there any code changes that can be recommended?

  • Are there any innovative approaches being taken by other jurisdictions that be applicable to Baltimore?

Project Development & Finance

  • What kinds of spaces are necessary -- living, live/work, performance?

  • Should these be separate or combined?

  • What is the range of occupancy costs that can be borne by the artists or organizations who would want to live, work, and perform in these spaces?

  • What does it take to provide for safe spaces for artists uses? What are the architectural models? What are the financial models?

  • What financing programs and models exist already? Do we use them? If not, could/should we?

  • What programs or models would we like to see, even if  it requires legislation and/or new funding streams? Are there programs in other jurisdictions being utilized?
